Since 2016, members of Aquila have had the opportunity to attend the annual National High School Journalism Convention held every April on the western side of the United States. The convention is co-sponsored by the Journalism Education Association (JEA) and the National Scholastic Press Association (NSPA). At the convention, high school journalists learn from professional and experienced journalists in workshops on a variety of topics such as leadership, writing, designing, photography, ethics and more. They also participate in write-off contests ranging from timed writing to analyzing ethical scenarios. Each year, Aquila has brought home valuable feedback, information and new ideas inspired by other schools and professionals from around the nation. This page reflectsadventures and achievements at past conventions.
